Radiothon for Our Communities’ Kids

Bayhealth recently worked with our partners at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children at the ninth annual Help Our Kids Radiothon. Over a two-day period, inspirational stories of patients and their families aired live on Forever Media radio stations as listeners were encouraged to make donations. In total $265,202 was raised to help expand services provided at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children.

Bayhealth Foundation President Lindsay Rhodenbaugh joined Chief Development Officer, Delaware Valley Nemours Fund for Children’s Health Cathy Kanefsky, to talk about how the new Nemours Sussex Medical Office Building will improve access to care for many Kent and Sussex County families. In 2018 alone, Nemours served over 13,000 patients in Kent County and over 16,000 patients in Sussex County.

The facility, which is currently under construction, will bring pediatric specialty services such as cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and pulmonology to southern Delaware. Bayhealth has worked with Nemours in the design of the building to ensure that it will be a highly functional place to receive world-class care. Bayhealth specialty and primary care physicians will occupy the upper levels of the facility providing more access to care for patients on the Sussex Campus.

The Nemours Sussex Medical Office Building in scheduled to open in late 2020.
