Statement of Purpose
The purpose of this organization shall be to bring together at frequent intervals those who are interested in the betterment of the Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, financially and otherwise. For this purpose, we shall take such practical action as may seem wise and desirable after adequate study. We shall operate on a general policy, which will meet with the approval of the Board of Directors of the hospital.
Facts about the Junior Board
Fifty charter members are credited with establishing the Junior Board. In the early years, members staffed a card table in the hospital’s lobby to help control the number of visitors. That was just the beginning of a growing tradition.
The Junior Board raises funds by holding a number of lobby sales and bake sales during the year for employees and visitors.
Junior Board Members also volunteer to assist with patient mail delivery, manning the hospital information desk, giving out information on hospital events, selling raffle tickets for various hospital activities, volunteering in the hospital gift shop cafe, and visiting with new patients to help ensure that their stay is as comfortable as possible.
No matter what your interest or skills, the Junior Board has a volunteer position for you!
